If you’re a little ‘concerned’ about your pirated copy of Photoshop CS3 you might want to check out GIMP. GIMP (The GNU Image Manipulation Program) the open source image editing program has just released a major update 2.6.0.

  • Some notable changes are:
  • The toolbox menubar has been moved to the image window.
  • You can now pan beyond the image border.
  • Brush dynamics!!

More improvements are available (e.g. Generic Graphics Library process) if you check out the release notes.

You can download GIMP here, but be careful  theres no Windows installer yet so unless you’re comfortable with compiling files and handling tarballs you might want to download the previous versions (2.4.7) for now.
